BYY is now going to be bringing you the latest in all kinds of beauty therapies, spas and wellness treatments in a brand, new section on the website. Our first foray into the world of wellness came with a visit to CryobyCoco in Melrose Arch, Joburg. There, we stepped in a cryochamber of -87 degrees for 3 minutes. Freezing your body (unlike an ice-plunge, this is your entire body) at these sub-zero temperatures of dry air for short bursts of time, is very good for your immune system, pain and inflammation, diseases and disorders such as fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis.
It’s used for the treatment of patients postoperatively and for recovery after sports injuries. It is beneficial in treating skin conditions like psoriasis and dermatitis, general anti-aging, weight management and mental health. All I can say is that it was more difficult to do than I imagined and that I felt fantastic for the rest of the day. Will definitely do it again. Go and try it for yourself!

Body confidence
I’ve been using Bramley Tissue Oil for a while now and love the way it makes my skin feel- soft and moisturised. I decided to try out the Shea Body Butter and the smell is divine. I highly recommend it for daily use as it does not feel oily after applying and is great for dry skin. It comes in a variety of flavours like lavender and magnolia so there’s a fragrance for everyone. I’m also a huge fan of the body wash and hand and nail cream which is a handbag essential! There’s also a range for sensitive skin and for men as well. Simply lovely products –and at very affordable prices.

Curtain call
Check out that beloved children’s classic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang !!which is coming to Irene Village Theatre for the month of March by the Pretoria Youth Theatre. Everyone’s favourite car comes to life in this musical adaptation of the fabulous film. An eccentric inventor restores an old racing car with magical properties and have to outwit villains including the notorious Child Catcher.
