On Tuesday, 20 May 2025, the Good Morning Britain show, revealed that Mummy Pig gave birth at 5:34 AM to a little piglet named Evie - named after Mummy Pig's aunt Evie. The news took the internet by storm and social media platforms were flooded with messages congratulating the oink family on their new arrival. BabyYumYum.com did the same and we shared a loud and proudly South African congratulations from Johannesburg, wishing the whole family only the best!
The animated show, which has told the story of Peppa, Daddy Pig, Mummy Pig and her little brother George for more than two decades, had fans going wild when they announced the pregnancy in February. Since then, dedicated fans have been extra invested in the wellbeing of Peppa’s family and excited to meet the cutest and newest piglet.
It is remarkable to think that an animated family of characters can be loved by so many children and parents (and grandparents) around the globe and it shows the impact and value of entertainment platforms. Our children learn from colourful and light-hearted stories, while having fun. In this series, the family is growing as the viewers are, and the storyline continues to surprise with delight.
In this special case, with the birth of baby Evie, the team managed to share the information as ‘breaking news’ on trusted and recognised news platforms and involve fans with an extra layer of realism when an official announcer shared the happy news with bystanders at the hospital where Evie was born. The chosen hospital for the birth is apparently the same one where Kate Middleton gave birth to all three of her children. The crowd at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington cheered as the announcer concluded with “long live Evie Pig”!
This new development at the Peppa Pig home gives parents the perfect opportunity to talk about their own family dynamics and how it changes when a new baby is born. The storyline can also spark conversation around how we celebrate with other families and why it is important to be happy for someone else when something good happens to them.

Globally successful, the brand connects with consumers across every touchpoint, from TV to theme parks to retail. As a lifelong friend, Peppa Pig encourages kids to jump in together and explore the world around them, while helping to give kids the confidence to treat every first step as a new adventure, from the everyday to the epic.
