Holly Ferrar
Holly Ferrar is the Head of Junior Prep at The Ridge School for boys, driven by her passion for teaching since her own school days. After a gap year overseas, she pursued a career in education and completed her BA in Linguistics and History, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Mrs. Ferrar found her calling in teaching younger children, where she could make the greatest impact. Her approach to teaching focuses on nurturing the whole child, prioritising well-being and creating a safe, supportive environment. Mrs. Ferrar builds genuine connections with her students and believes in developing the whole child, rather than solely focusing on academics. In the Junior Prep, she emphasises teaching skills such as empathy, compassion, kindness, and problem-solving, alongside foundational academic skills like reading, writing, and arithmetic. She also places a strong emphasis on teaching important social skills, helping children learn how to be a friend, share, practice manners, and resolve conflicts. Mrs. Ferrar believes that the early school years play a crucial role in shaping a child's social, emotional, and educational journey. Her commitment to creating a happy and supportive environment allows her students to flourish and be themselves, with a guiding principle to be kind in all aspects of life.
