What is Invasive Meningoccocal Disease (IMD)?

INVASIVE MENINGOCOCCAL DISEASE (IMD)

SERIOUS, UNPREDICTABLE BACTERIAL INFECTION1

  • Onset can be sudden1
  • Early symptoms are non-specific (similar to flu-like symptoms)2,3
  • Main forms of IMD2:
    • Meningococcal Meningitis

Meningococcal Septicaemia

LIFE-THREATENING DISEASE1

  • Can be difficult to diagnose4
  • Rapidly progressive disease1

Death can occur in less than 24 hours4

LONG-TERM COMPLICATIONS1
