Dr Joanne Pottow is a Reproductive Medicine Specialist, Obstetrician, and Gynaecologist, trained at the University of the Witwatersrand and Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. With a special interest in fertility and reproductive medicine, she completed her M.Med on secondhand smoke exposure rates in pregnant women in Soweto. Dr Pottow obtained a reproductive qualification from the University of Valencia, Spain, and is particularly interested in recurrent implantation failure, low ovarian reserve, endometriosis, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. She actively promotes egg freezing and has completed level 2 of the laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgical training (GESEA program) of the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery. Before her medical career, she held a marketing position at L’Oréal South Africa and is now a member of several professional bodies, including SASREG, ESHRE, and SASOG, committed to providing high-quality, individualised patient care.
